Adding an additional driver is a great way to share the load when travelling long distances or driving abroad. Driving in a foreign country can be stressful, tiring and quite frankly, sometimes a little boring!

By sharing the driving responsibilities, you can lower the risk of having an accident. It is important to be aware that if an unnamed driver is in an accident, your cover will be invalidated.

What is an Additional Driver?

By adding an additional driver when renting a vehicle, it allows for more than just the lead driver to be insured. Without declaring an additional driver, you risk being held liable for driving with no cover on the vehicle.

The additional driver charge is to ensure that the second driver is covered under the same agreement as the main driver.

All additional drivers will need to adhere to the same terms and conditions as the main driver.

How can I book an Additional Driver?

An additional driver can be added during the normal online booking process, just select the Additional Driver box which appears once you have selected your vehicle. It is located under the 'Add Extras' section.

You can also book an additional driver at the rental station upon pick up or via our call center on +66(0) 2203-9222. Don't forget you can also add an additional driver to an existing reservation.

How much does an Additional Driver cost?

In the TH, an additional driver costs THB 200.00 (excluding VAT) per day per driver. If the additional driver is below the age of 21, they will also be liable for a Young Driver Charge.

Where is Additional Driver available?

Additional Driver is available at all Budget stations across the TH.
